Electroplating, Metal Polishing, Anodizing, Phosphating, Metal Finishing and Powder Coating projects

Surface finishing is a broad range of industrial processes that alter the surface of a manufactured item to achieve a certain property. Currently, the trend is towards surface treatments. Surface engineering techniques are generally used to develop a wide range of functional properties, including physical, chemical, electrical, electronic, magnetic, mechanical, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant properties at the required substrate surfaces. In general, coatings are desirable, or even necessary, for a variety of reasons including economics, material conservation, unique properties, or the engineering and design flexibility which can be obtained by separating the surface properties from the bulk properties. Some of common metal surface finishing technology are electroplating, electroless nickel plating, aluminium anodizing and dying, black oxidizing of copper and steel, conversion coating and passivation, pickling, heat treatment, electropolishing etc.

Electroplating is the process of applying a metallic coating to an article by passing an electric current through an electrolyte in contact with the article, thereby forming a surface having properties or dimensions different from those of the article. Essentially any electrically conductive surface can be electroplated. Special techniques, such as coating with metallic-loaded paints or silver-reduced spray, can be used to make nonconductive surfaces, such as plastic, electrically conductive for electroplating. The metals and alloy substrates electroplated on a commercial scale are cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, gold, indium, iron, lead, nickel, platinum group metals, silver, tin, zinc, brass, bronze, many gold alloys, lead-tin, nickel-iron, nickel-cobalt, nickel-phosphorus, tin-nickel, tin-zinc, zinc-nickel, zinc-cobalt, and zinc-iron. Electroplated materials are generally used for a specific property or function, although there may be some overlap, e. g., a material may be electroplated for decorative use as well as for corrosion resistance.

Electropolishing is used in the pharmaceutical, electronic, food, beverage, automotive, aerospace and many other industries. Pickling is the removal of oxide layers resulting from welding and heat-treating. Pickling or chemical cleaning is the chemical cleaning of metallic surfaces in order to remove impurities, stains or scale with an acidic solution. Anodizingis an electrolytic passivation process used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts.

With the growth in infrastructure, India will need huge amounts of metal. Aluminium is used in various sectors such as transportation, packaging, building/construction and electricity. Globally, automotive, packaging and construction sectors are the major end users of aluminium, while in India the power sector consumes most followed by automotive and housing sectors. The sector wise consumption break -up as follows: electrical-64 per cent, transport-18 per cent, packaging-4 per cent, industrial machinery-3 per cent, consumer durables-3 per cent, and steel sweetening, power and chemicals -11 per cent. There is no doubt that Indian infrastructure is poised for a great leap forward. The surface finishing industry will play an important role in constructing the Indian infrastructure.

HOT DIP GALVANIZING PLANT - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue

Galvanized coatings are applied to iron and steel primarily to provide protection against corrosion of the basis metal. Hot Dip Galvanizing is a process in which an adherent, protective coating of zinc and zinc compounds is developed on the surfaces of iron and steel products by immersing them in a bath of molten zinc. The protective coatings usually consist of several layers. Those closest to the basis metal are composed of iron-zinc compounds these in turn are covered by an outer layer consisting almost entirely of zinc. The complex structure of layers that comprise a galvanized coating varies greatly in chemical composition and physical and mechanical properties, being affected by chemical activity, diffusion, and subsequent cooling. Small differences in coating composition, bath temperature, time of immersion, and rate of cooling or subsequent reheating can result in significant changes in the appearance and properties of the coating. Hot dip galvanized coatings are produced on a variety of steel mill products, using fully mechanized and mass production methods. Hot dip galvanized zinc coatings have their longest life expectancy in rural areas where sulfur dioxide and other industrial pollutant concentrations are low. These coatings also give satisfactory service in most marine environments. Although the life expectancy of hot dip galvanized coatings in more severe industrial environments is not as long as for less aggressive environments, the coatings are still used extensively in those exposures, because in general, no more effective and economical method of protection is available. India's steel pipe industry is primarily engaged in manufacturing seamless or welded steel pipes or tubes or ferrous metal pipes or tube fittings. Steel pipes are primarily of two types, seamless and welded. Other specific types extend the basic classification to include: (a) cast iron pipes, (b) stainless steel tubes, (c) ERW (electric resistance welding) steel pipes, (d) galvanized pipes, (e) API pipes, (f) SAW (submerged arc welded) pipes, and (g) spun pipes. Welded steel pipes include a wide variety of pipes and tubes. Welded pipes are normally manufactured from HR and CR coils by ERW. Galvanized pipes are zinc-coated to prevent corrosion. ERW tubes are meant for high performance applications, such as trusses and columns in housing, industrial and construction sectors, chassis for two-wheelers and light commercial vehicles, propeller shafts and axles. According to observation of engineering goods statistics, we can conclude about the essentiality of the galvanizing process as companys work or on the job work base. It can be concluded that galvanization process is partially proportional to the increase of demand of the engineering goods or most or ancillary item production the steel base. It can be concluded that demand of galvanizing industries will be increased 10% per annum. On that base it can be predicted that there is good scope for galvanizing industries as job work base.

A transmission tower (colloquially termed an electricity pylon in the United Kingdom and parts of Europe, an ironman in Australia, and a hydro tower in English Canada) is a tall structure, usually a steel lattice tower, used to support an overhead power line. They are used in high voltage AC and DC systems, and come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Typical height ranges from 15 to 55 metres (49 to 180 ft), though the tallest are the 370 m (1,214 ft) towers of a 2700 metres long span of Zhoushan Island Overhead Powerline Tie. In addition to steel, other materials may be used, including concrete and wood. The products of the Proposed Fabrication units are covered by well designed and fabricated structures for a. state electricity boards for the purposes of electricity supply (i,e) a) power transmission Towers, TV and Radio Towers, Telecommunication Towers, b) Railway and Highway bridges etc. c. Industrial structures etc. Some transmission towers combine these basic functions. Transmission towers and their overhead power lines are often considered to be a form of visual pollution. Methods to reduce the visual impact include undergrounding. Tower structures can be classified by the way in which they support the line conductors. Suspension structures support the conductor vertically using suspension insulators. . Strain structures resist net tension in the conductors and the conductors attach to the structure through strain insulators. Dead end structures support the full weight of the conductor and also all the tension in it, and also use strain insulators. Where the conductors are straight, a tangent tower is used. Angle towers are used where a line must change direction. Structures are classified as tangent suspension, angle suspension, tangent strain, angle strain, tangent dead end and angle dead end.

Galvanized Corrugated Sheets are manufactured using best grade steel and is widely applied in construction industry. Galvanized Corrugated Sheets have excellent corrosion resistance, these Sheets have become the most preferred material for various construction purposes, particularly roofing and walling. The demand for corrugated iron sheet depends mainly on the performance of its end-user (i.e. the construction sector or more specifically the building construction sector). Therefore, the demand for the products under consideration is a derived demand, which depends directly on themperformance of its major end – user. The construction sector of the country has undergone tremendous changes and development in recent years. The contribution of the construction sector to the GDP during the period 2001 – 2010 have been growing at annual average growth rate of 13 percent which is above the average annual growth rate of real GDP during the period under consideration (11.4 %), indicating a rise in the share of the construction sector within the overall economy. Moreover, during the GTP period (2010 – 2015), the construction sector is expected to grow at annual average growth rate of 20%. Uses and Applications The corrugated galvanized iron sheets are extensively used in various fields e.g. industries sheds, dairy farm sheds, poultry farm sheds etc. for roofing purpose. In recent years, a lot of multi scale projects have taken up the Indian industry by a storm and these levels have given a larger scope for steel companies. The galvanised plain coils / sheets and corrugated sheets (GP/GC) are value - added steel products which are tough, sturdy, light weight, bright and corrosion resistant. In India these are produced in the thickness range of 0.15 mm to 2.0 mm and width range of 800 mm to 1560 mm. The function of the zinc layer is mainly three fold: To retain the steel intact with its full initial strength; to provide the surface a more pleasing appearance and to increase the life of any suitable organic finishing system applied over it. Market Survey There is always a need for galvanized sheets, rollers, and other varieties of pressed sheets that make up the steel industry. The construction process needless to say remains the same but has new implementations that are adapted from the western counterparts. Steel manufacturers are now in demand for infrastructure and automobile sectors as well, thus widening their scope of development. The recent growth of these newly developed industries has given a new lease of hope to steel developers. This sudden splurge of industrial growth has honed the success of the leading steel companies in India. Roofing industry in India is preparing for the next generation of ambitious projects. That roofing is an important component of the construction industry is evident from the fact that it accounts for over 25 per cent of the total building construction cost. There are many roofing options in the Indian roofing sector, such as asbestos cement fibre sheets, corrugated galvanised iron sheets. Growth in the infrastructure and industrial segment has been a major demand driver for roof and wall cladding industry. It has registered a double digit growth over past three years and the future of this industry is also looking bright considering the low steel penetration and high demand in construction industry. Major shift is observed from clay tiles and conventional roofing system to metal cladding solution. Customers are looking for architectural solution which provides innovative shapes such as convex, concave in addition to new attractive colors. The future of roof and wall cladding industry is bright considering the low steel penetration and high demand in construction industry. Few Major Players are as under:- Bharat Berg Ltd. Battery Operated Ride on Car for Kids

A toy is an item that is used in play, especially one designed for such use. Playing with toys can be an enjoyable means of training young children for life in society. Different materials like wood, clay, paper, and plastic are used to make toys. The origin of toys is prehistoric; dolls representing infants, animals, and soldiers, as well as representations of tools used by adults are readily found at archaeological sites. The origin of the word "toy" is unknown, but it is believed that it was first used in the 14th century. Toys are mainly made for children. The oldest known doll toy is thought to be 4,000 years old. In recent years many toys have become more complicated with flashing lights and sounds in an effort to appeal to children raised around television and the internet. Popular models to be made include cars, spaceships and houses. Battery-powered ride-on cars have enjoyed popularity since their appearance in the middle of the 20th century. Many new tech toys have appeared since then, but none that can replace the ride-on car with an electric engine. Becoming more sophisticated over the years, they have improved in safety and features. Battery capacity and motor power are two closely related aspects. Standard ride-on car batteries have a 6- or a 12-volt battery. The former features in less powerful cars, which are well-suited for younger children. Children below the age of four should only play with 6-volt battery ride-on cars. Older children can handle a 12-volt battery ride-on car or more. The largest group of consumers in the Indian toy industry is the pre- teenagers in the age between 7 and 12. Indian consumers are really price-sensitive and tend to buy impulse- driven. Because of that, toys with a low price point up to 199 INR (3.30 USD) account for the majority of sales with 46 % share. Independent small neighborhood retail stores are among the favorite stores for Indians to shop. The data also shows that the imports of toys in India is expected to reach a level of approx Rs 2000 crores during year 2013-14 thereby increasing @21 percent from 2012-13. The export of toys from India is quite low; of the order of approximately Rs 250- 300 crores per annum only and mainly educational toys are being exported to USA, UK and UAE etc. The Indian fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies have performed better than their multinational peers as the combined revenue of country's seven leading FMCG companies stood at US$ 11.1 billion in FY 2015-16. The electronics market of India is one of the largest in the world and is anticipated to reach USD 400 billion by 2020. Thus, due to demand it is best to invest in this project. Hot Dip Galvanizing

Hot Dip Galvanizing is a process in which an adherent, protective coating of zinc and zinc compounds is developed on the surfaces of iron and steel products by immersing them in a bath of molten zinc. Hot dipping is a process in which a metal substrate is immersed in a molten bath of a second metal. After removal, the second metal is coated into the first. It is essential to have higher melting temperature of first metal than the second. The most common substrate metals are steel and iron and the common coating materials are zinc, aluminium, tin and lead. Prior to coating, cleaning of rust, scale, oil, paint and other surface contaminants is required. For coating process, immersion in the molten metal is done for periods ranging from a fraction of a minute for small objects like fasteners to several minutes for large scale structures. Temperature of approximately 450°C and 700°C need to be maintained (bath temperature) for galvanizing (zinc coating) and aluminium coating respectively. Steel manufacturing output of India is expected to increase from 88.4 million tons (MT) in 2017 to 128.6 MT by 2021, accelerating the country’s share of global steel production from 5.4% in 2017 to 7.7% by 2021. India is the second-largest crude steel producer in the world. In FY17, India produced 111.254 million tons (MT) of finished steel. Total finished steel production in the country increased at a CAGR of 8.39 per cent over FY12-17. Crude Steel and Finished Steel production during April-October 2017 stood at 66.70 MT and 76.36 MT, respectively. Driven by rising infrastructure development and growing demand for automotives, steel consumption is expected to reach 104 MT by 2017. India’s steel production is expected to increase from 97.42 MT in FY17 to 128.6 MT by 2021. Thus, due to demand it is best to invest in this project. Chrome Plating

Chrome plating (less commonly chromium plating), often referred to simply as chrome, is a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object. The chromed layer can be decorative, provide corrosion resistance, ease cleaning procedures, or increase surface hardness. Sometimes, a less expensive imitator of chrome may be used for aesthetic purposes. Chrome plating is more reflective (brighter), bluer (less pale, grayish, or yellowish), and more specular (the reflection is deeper, less distorted, more like a mirror) than other finishes. Chrome Plating is an electrolytic process utilizing a chromic acid based electrolyte. The part is made the cathode and, with the passage of a DC current via lead anodes, chromium metal builds on the component surface. Increasing demand from the passenger vehicle segment on account of easy availability of credit facilities is expected to fuel industry growth. This in-turn is expected to increase the demand for chroming for various interior and exterior automobile components. Also, the chromium is widely used for various two wheeler component as it improves the aesthetics and also possess properties such as corrosion resistance, and wear resistance. Chromium plating process involves different steps which include degreasing, cleaning dirt & impurities, different types of pretreatment varying according to substrate material. However, stringent environmental regulations are expected to pose a challenge to the industry growth over the next nine years.

C.P. BATH ROOM FITTING (CHROME PLATED)

Chrome plating is used in a number of metallic products to increase its durability, because products which are chrome plated do not get corroded easily. Chrome plating is mostly used in the automotive industry and the bath ware industry. Chrome happens to be frugal, lightweight and attractive making it the best bet to plate luxury bathroom fittings. Most luxury bathrooms are state-of-the art designed sanitary ware which look spotless and attractive. Chrome meaning steel that has undergone several plating processes to endure the temperature changes and weather that a car is subject to outdoors. Triple plating is the most expensive and durable process, which involves plating the steel first with copper and then nickel before the chromium plating is applied. The fact that chrome plating is a method used in electroplating makes it rust resistant. Chrome plating also does not oxidise easily because of which it is mainly used in bathrooms and kitchens. CP fittings are available in a plethora of designs which look exquisite, when placed on the bathroom sink or used as a shower.

Plating on Plastics, Electroplating on Plastics Silver & Gold Plating on Pvc And Nylon-6

The Gold is a relatively scarce yellow metal. Often found in the native State, which is the most malleable of all metals. It is extremely corrosion resistant but it may be desolved by aqua-regia, potassium cyanide solution and in aquos solution of the halogens bromine and Iodine. The metal does not form a coherent oxide film on its surface even at very high temperature and therefore it has a very low contact resistant. Nylon which come in the polyamide group of plastics are now available in some 100 formulations for injection moulding and extrusion for those end-uses where toughness, frictional characteristics and other properties of the materials are desired. Nylon-6 or Poly eaprolactum is chemically denoted as [NH(CH2)5Co]x. PVC known as polyvinyl chloride is the largest branch of the vinyl polymers and copolymers. The PVC are available in a wide range of formulations flexible or rigid, all characterized by excellent water and chemical resistance strength, and self extinguishability. Plastic materials which are defined as a solid which can be pressed or moulded into any shape are classed as Thermoset plastics and Thermo-Plastics. Nylon-6 and PVC are the most commonly used Thermoplastics along with HDPE, LDPE, polystyrene and Acrylic polymers. As is known it is quite possible to plate in some fashion on virtually any type of solid, whether it be metal ceramic, rubber, wood, glass or plastic. And there are many methods other than electroplating such as vercuum metalizing, silvering plating over conductive point, and metal spraying that have been used to metalize solids. Silver & gold plating of plastics is an important aspect of plating on Non-conductors. The problem of electroplating on non-conductors is initially to provide a more or less adherent conductive coating on the substrate by non-electrolytic means, so that conventional electroplating methods can be applied just as to any metallic substrate.
