Rubber industry is using stearic acid for softening rubber, natural as well as synthetic at the rate of 4 to 5 % of the total weight of finished products. The demand for fatty acids is estimated to increase from 123.22 thousand tonnes to 137 thousand tonnes. The future demand is estimated to grow at the rate of 6.5 %.
