The main subsidy in Rajasthan for a new factory comes from one policy, the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024 (RIPS), which covers new investments until March 2029. RIPS lets a manufacturer pick one main payout: part of the investment returned over several years, a share of yearly sales, or 75% of the state tax the unit deposits. Micro, small and medium units sit in their own package, where every incentive together is capped at ₹5 crore a year. Food processing units in that package can get 50% of capital investment back, up to ₹1.5 crore, and plastic-alternative units get the same 50% up to ₹40 lakh. Electricity duty and mandi fee are waived for seven years. The older loan-linked schemes for small units published end dates in 2024, so check they are open before you plan around them.

Which Rajasthan subsidy schemes can an industrial unit use in 2026?

Four schemes carry most of the money. The loan-linked pair in the last row needs a status check before you rely on it.

These sit alongside the wider set of central and state government schemes and the central MSME schemes.

How much does a small manufacturer get under RIPS 2024?

RIPS makes an investor choose one asset-creation incentive: a capital subsidy, a sales-linked payout, or 75% of state tax deposited. For small units, the sources we checked list the tax route and two sector capital subsidies separately, so ask the department which can be combined.

BenefitAmountDuration or cap
Reimbursement of state tax deposited75%7 years in the RIPS text; summaries of the MSME Policy 2024 by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and MSME Council say 10 years
Capital subsidy, food and agro processing50% of capital investmentUp to ₹1.5 crore; extra 5% for farmer producer organisations owned by SC/ST or women and for units in tribal sub-plan areas
Capital subsidy, plastic alternatives50% of capital investmentUp to ₹40 lakh
Interest subvention on term loans6% on loans up to ₹5 crore, 4% on ₹5-10 crore, 3% on ₹10-50 crore7 years; the MSME Policy adds 2, 1 and 0.5 points to these slabs, per ICAI's summary
Electricity duty and mandi fee100% exempt or reimbursed7 years
Employer EPF and ESI contributions50% of the employer share7 years
Staff training50% of cost, one time, for 6 monthsMonthly cap ₹20,000 micro, ₹30,000 small, ₹40,000 medium

Should you take the tax refund, the capital subsidy or interest support?

  • Tax refund: it pays out of the state tax you actually deposit. A product taxed at a low rate, or sold mostly to buyers in other states, leaves little to refund.
  • Capital subsidy: it is the clearest cash return for a machinery-heavy plant, but in the small-unit package only food and agro processing and plastic alternatives get it.
  • Interest support: it suits a unit that funds most of the project with a term loan. The same loan cannot claim both the RIPS subvention and the MSME Policy subvention, per ICAI's summary, so get your bank's quote against both before you file.

What changed in 2026 that older guides miss?

  • Old incentive lists: the state Single Window incentive list that many searches surface first still describes the earlier RIPS 2019 package. Do not quote it for a project that starts now.
  • March 2026 amendment: an order dated 11 March 2026, as summarised by TeamLease RegTech, added a payroll subsidy for textile units and 5% interest subvention for service enterprises.
  • June 2026 announcements: at the MSME Day event on 27 June 2026 the Chief Minister announced, per press reports, that the payout period of the MSME capital subsidy falls from 10 years to 7, permission to start operations from 120 days to 30, and urban land-use conversion for MSME units from 60 days to 30.

Is MLUPY still open for new loans?

MLUPY paid an interest subsidy for five years on bank loans: 8% up to ₹25 lakh, 6% up to ₹5 crore and 5% up to ₹10 crore, according to a Jalore District Industries Centre notice and the state scheme listing on Public Services Map. That listing gives its period as 17 December 2019 to 31 March 2024. We found no notice extending it, although several 2026 loan guides still list it.

The Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyam Protsahan Yojana, for graduates aged 18 to 35, offered similar interest subsidy; its last disbursement date was 31 December 2024.

Ask your District Industries Centre whether the SSO Rajasthan application is live. If it is not, the RIPS interest subvention in the table above is the current substitute.

How do you apply, and where do claims go wrong?

  1. Get Udyam registration, which fixes whether you count as a micro, small or medium unit.
  2. Register on Raj Nivesh, the investor portal run by the Bureau of Investment Promotion. Registration is free and creates a single sign-on ID; PAN and a mobile number are mandatory.
  3. File the application online, upload every document and pay the fee through the portal.
  4. Start commercial production within the policy period, or within two years of your entitlement certificate, whichever is later.
  5. File claims after production starts. ICAI's summary of the MSME Policy gives one year from the start of production.

Three slips cost units their incentive:

  • Investment made after the policy's launch (notified 8 October 2024) can claim only under RIPS 2024, so older scheme terms found in blogs do not apply.
  • Letting GST filing lapse or the loan account turn overdue.
  • Moving the unit out of Rajasthan during the incentive period, which can trigger recovery.

Frequently asked questions about Rajasthan subsidies

Is there a 50% subsidy loan in Rajasthan?

No scheme we checked gives 50% on every loan. The 50% figures are capital subsidies for specific sectors under RIPS 2024: food and agro processing (up to ₹1.5 crore) and plastic alternatives (up to ₹40 lakh). Women entrepreneurs get a 25% grant under MNSUPY, up to 30% for some categories. Everything else is interest support.

Is there a ₹15 lakh subsidy for MSMEs in Rajasthan?

Not as a flat figure in the schemes covered here. Caps depend on scheme and sector: ₹40 lakh for plastic alternatives, ₹1.5 crore for food processing, and ₹5 crore a year across all MSME incentives. Your sanction order gives the actual figure.

What startup schemes does Rajasthan offer?

Two: start-up support inside RIPS 2024 and iStart Rajasthan. RIPS gives start-ups rated Bronze or above 75% of state tax deposited for 7 years and 75% of patent cost up to ₹5 lakh. iStart pays ₹10,000 a month for a year at idea stage to firms under 10 years old with turnover up to ₹100 crore. See startup funding options for sources outside the state.

Is the subsidy paid before or after I invest?

After. Subsidies reimburse spending and tax you have already paid, and the capital subsidy in the standard manufacturing package is paid in annual instalments over 10 years. Fund the plant first with your own money or a bank loan, and keep working capital aside for the gap.

What to do before you sign for machinery in Rajasthan

  • Ask your bank to quote the loan against both interest slabs, and your accountant to project the state tax you will deposit.
  • Register on Raj Nivesh, and ask the District Industries Centre in writing whether the MLUPY form on SSO Rajasthan is live.
  • Choose a plot in one of the industrial areas in Rajasthan, and test your product against the manufacturing ideas that suit Rajasthan.
  • Have a full project report ready before you meet the bank or the department; the detailed project report format shows what it covers.
