Maize Processing Market Survey

The growth potential of the Maize supply chain in the country is immense. Maize intake has risen in the last five years at a CAGR of 11 percent. Maize is actually a producer of more than 3,500,000 Specialized maize products, such as QPM “Quality Protein Maize.”

Maize (Corn) market survey contains about 70 percent starch, with protein, fibers and fat as other components. The separation of the maize kernel into its various components is the foundation of the maize milling process.

The wet milling method includes the grinding of softened maize and the separation of maize oil seeds (germs), gluten (proteins), fibers (husk) and, eventually, pure starch. Maize starch is generated. Karnataka, AP, Bihar, MP.

The main maize-producing areas are UP and Rajasthan. In Assam, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, HP, Jammu Kashmir and Orissa, it is also produced. Punjab, Bengal of the West etc. According to Nizamabad mandi, the maize expiry rate is fixed.

Status of Maize Production

One of the staple crops of farmer households is maize. In mills for producing bread, historically, the grain is processed into flour. Immature cobs are roasted all over the world and consumed. It is an important raw material for processing units for animal and poultry feed and corn flakes.

The amount of maize used by these units, however, is reduced since the current units are small-scale in nature. They just produce a few goods that have minimal demand. Therefore, it is important to create an alternative large-scale unit that can process a large amount of maize for various value-added items.

In India, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata are the major markets for processed maize products. Other important markets include Bhopal, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Bangalore etc. Most of the starch manufacturers of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, etc., have their marketing offices in Mumbai. Hence, Ahmedabad and Mumbai are the major trading centres for corn starch in India.

The government has provided a framework for price support to allow farmers to grow maize as it is ready.

In the starch and feed meal markets, usage. For the first time ever, the government has set the maize MSP for the crop season 2013-14 is Rs 1,310 per quintal, which is the same as for popular paddy, with a view to promoting farmers are planting more maize instead of paddy.

In MSP, maize also saw the highest CAGR of 13.3 percent compared to other crops over the past few years.

Groundwater tables can be significantly increased if the production of maize is encouraged instead of paddy, as it only involves one-fifth of the overall water needed for paddy growing and gives farmers far higher returns.
