Haryana is a leading state in the country on both the industrial and agricultural front. Haryana is one of the leading states in terms of industrial production, especially passenger cars, two-wheelers, mobile cranes and tractors. Haryana is the second-largest contributor of food grains to India’s central pool and accounts for more than 60 per cent of the export of Basmati rice in the country, third-largest exporter of software and one of the preferred destinations for IT/ITeS facilities.

Haryana is a preferred destination for auto majors and auto-component manufacturers. The state is host to many large automotive players. The state produces two-thirds of passenger cars, 50 per cent of tractors, 60 per cent of motorcycles and 50 per cent of the refrigerators manufactured in the country. Faridabad, Palwal & Mewat are separated from its parent district Gurgaon, that is the partof National Capital Region (NCR) and near to NCT of Delhi.

Haryana is 17th most populous state in India surrounded but  Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi Haryana surrounds NCT of Delhi from three sides and hence the large Haryana Area is  included in NCR. Being Haryana surrounding Delhi from three sides, enjoys  the benefits from NCT of Delhi and also shares its development with Delhi.  Water need of Delhi is partially fulfilled by Haryana and without Haryanas water it is difficult to survive by Delhi.

Haryana is one of the wealthiest states of India and Gujarat, Haryana and Maharashtra has recorded highest per capita income after Delhi and Goa.  Haryana has largest rural crorepatis in India.  Haryana State is one of the economically developed regions in India as well as South Asia. Haryana has a big contribution in tax revenue for the growth of economy of India.

Haryana is fast emerging as one of the most favoured investment destinations in India. The globalization of markets and a buoyant economy have given a tremendous impetus to the industrial sector in Haryana, which already has a competitive advantage in terms of strategic location, basic infrastructure as well as large skilled, educated and young workforce. Food & Agro Processing

Haryana has made a significant contribution in agricultural production in the country. Agriculture is the mainstay of more than 75 per cent population in Haryana, with contribution of 28.2 per cent in GDP of the State. Rice, wheat, jowar, bajra, maize, barley and pulses are the major crops of the State. Under the diversification of crops, more and more area is being brought under cash crops like sugarcane, cotton, oilseeds, etc.

Automobile

Automobile manufacturing sector constitutes Haryana’s primary strength, thanks to the presence of Maruti-Suzuki, Hero-Honda, Honda Motors, Escorts which have led to the development of a large number of ancillaries in this Sector. Gurgaon-Manesar-Bawal region has  been  identified  as  an  Auto  Hub  by  the  Government  of  India.  A number of auto & auto component units have already set up base in this hub.

The Ministry of Textiles in India has formulated numerous policies and schemes for the development of the textile industry in India. The government of India has been following a policy of promoting and encouraging the handloom sector through a number of programmes.
