What is a mosquito repellent liquidator project report?
A mosquito repellent liquidator project report is a detailed project report (DPR) for a unit that fills liquid vaporiser refills. Each refill holds transfluthrin dissolved in a solvent, in a bottle fitted with a wick. The report sets out the process, machinery, raw materials, licences, project cost, five-year projections, DSCR and break-even that a bank checks.
Entrepreneurs use it to size a refill line and apply for a term loan or PMEGP; lenders use it to judge whether the unit can repay.
Also known as: mosquito liquid vaporiser project report, mosquito liquidator refill business plan, liquid vaporiser refill manufacturing DPR, mosquito repellent liquid project report.
What a bank checks in a mosquito repellent liquidator project report
A refill unit earns a small margin on every bottle, so lenders look first at price, material cost and credit terms. These are the values used in our sample report and the reason each one matters.
This is the price to the distributor, not the shelf price. Retailer and distributor margins and GST sit between the two, and a report that uses the shelf price overstates sales.
Solvent, bottles and wicks make up most of it. Kerosene-based solvent follows crude oil prices, so the report should test a price rise.
The debt service coverage ratio (DSCR) shows how many times cash earnings cover loan payments. Banks look at the weakest year, here Year 2, not only the average of 2.24.
Trade receivables are the largest current asset in the sample. Distributors in this trade expect credit, and the cash credit limit must cover it.
Values are the assumptions in our illustrative sample. Your report uses figures for your capacity, suppliers and market.

Mosquito repellent liquidator manufacturing process
A liquidator unit does not make the active ingredient. It buys transfluthrin technical, dissolves it to the strength in its registration, and fills, plugs and packs the refills in a closed, solvent-safe area.
- Testing incoming material
Each lot of solvent and transfluthrin technical is checked for purity and odour before it is taken into stock.
- Formulation mixing
Transfluthrin is dissolved in the solvent with antioxidant and perfume in a closed stainless steel vessel under slow stirring.
- Batch release
A sample from each batch is tested on a gas chromatograph for active ingredient content against the registered strength.
- Filling
A volumetric filler doses 45 ml into each bottle; fill accuracy matters because a short fill means fewer nights of use.
- Wick insertion and capping
The wick is pressed into the neck with its plug, the cap is screwed on, and bottles are checked for leaks.
- Labelling and coding
Each bottle carries the registration number, batch number, dates and the cautionary text required on the label.
- Packing
Refills are packed singly, in multi-packs or with a heater in combo packs, and stored away from heat.
Raw materials for liquid vaporiser refills
The active ingredient is a small share of the liquid by weight but a real cost, so it is bought against a certificate of analysis. Deodorised solvent is the largest single cost and needs flameproof bulk storage.
| Raw material | Share of cost | Year 3 (₹ lakh) |
|---|---|---|
| Transfluthrin technical | 15% | 67.38 |
| Deodorised kerosene or isoparaffin solvent | 32% | 143.74 |
| Refill bottles | 20% | 89.84 |
| Wicks | 20% | 89.84 |
| Plugs and caps | 8% | 35.93 |
| Antioxidant and perfume | 5% | 22.46 |
| Total | 100% | 449.19 |
Cartons and labels are counted separately as packing, at 9.1% of sales in the sample.
Machinery for a mosquito liquidator refill line
The filling machine is the costliest item in the sample, followed by the wick insertion and plugging machine. Both should be matched to your bottle and wick design before you order.
| Machine | What it does | Sample cost (₹ lakh) |
|---|---|---|
| Stainless steel mixing vessel with stirrer | Dissolves the active in solvent | 14.67 |
| Solvent storage tanks and transfer pumps | Holds and moves bulk solvent | 14.67 |
| Automatic volumetric liquid filling machine | Doses 45 ml into each bottle | 36.67 |
| Wick insertion and plugging machine | Fits wick and plug in the neck | 29.33 |
| Cap screwing machine | Seals the bottle for transport | 14.67 |
| Labelling and batch coding machine | Applies label, batch and dates | 14.67 |
| Carton packing and sealing equipment | Packs refills for dispatch | 11.73 |
| Quality control laboratory with gas chromatograph | Tests active content per batch | 10.26 |
| Total plant and machinery | 146.67 | |

Who buys mosquito liquidator refills?
Refills are a repeat purchase. A household that owns a heater buys a refill every few weeks in the mosquito season, and sales rise during and after the monsoon. National brands hold most of the retail shelf, so a new unit usually starts with a regional brand, small-town distribution or contract filling.
- Distributors and FMCG wholesalers
- Kirana, chemist and general stores
- Rural and small-town retailers
- Hotels, hostels and guest houses
- Brand owners buying contract-filled refills
What brings repeat orders: a refill that lasts the nights printed on the pack and does not leak or clog. Retailers drop a brand quickly after complaints, so batch testing and fill accuracy protect sales as much as price does.
Which licences does a mosquito liquidator unit need?
Mosquito repellent liquid is an insecticide under Indian law. You cannot make or sell it until the formulation is registered and the factory is licensed, so allow for this in the project timeline.
| Product registration | Registration of each formulation with the Registration Committee under section 9 of the Insecticides Act 1968; the committee normally meets once a month |
|---|---|
| Manufacturing licence | Licence to manufacture insecticides from the licensing officer appointed by the state government under sections 12 and 13 of the Act |
| Pollution board consent | Consent to establish and operate from the State Pollution Control Board; insecticide formulation is listed as orange category in Maharashtra, so confirm the category in your state |
| Plastic packaging EPR | Registration on the CPCB centralised EPR portal for brand owners of plastic packaging; micro and small brand owners are exempt from EPR obligations |
| Business registration | Udyam (MSME) registration and GST registration |
| Fire safety | Fire NOC where state rules require it, given the bulk storage of flammable solvent |
Mistakes that weaken a mosquito liquidator business plan
- Using the shelf price for sales
The factory sells to distributors at an ex-factory price well below the printed price, so revenue and DSCR come out too high.
- No time allowed for registration
Sales cannot start before the formulation is registered and licensed. The report should carry interest and fixed costs through that gap.
- Mixing up the refill and the heater
Heaters are electrical devices usually bought from specialist makers. If you sell combo packs, their cost and stock must be in the report.
- Flat sales across the year
Demand peaks with the monsoon. Stock built before the season ties up cash, and a flat working capital estimate leaves the unit short.
- Leaving out batch testing
Without a gas chromatograph or an outside lab, there is no proof each batch meets the registered strength.

Mosquito Repellent Liquidator project report: frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to start a mosquito repellent liquidator unit?
A small refill unit on a semi-automatic line needs roughly ₹40–80 lakh, and a mid-size automatic line about ₹1.2–2 crore. Our sample report models a 13,000 refills per day unit at ₹306.62 lakh, including land, building and working capital margin. These are indicative figures; your own report works out the cost for your capacity and location.
What raw materials are used to make mosquito liquidator refills?
The liquid is transfluthrin technical dissolved in deodorised kerosene or an isoparaffin solvent, with a little antioxidant and perfume. Each refill also needs a bottle, a wick and a plug and cap. In our sample report the solvent is the largest raw material cost at 32%, while bottles and wicks take 20% each.
Which licence is needed to manufacture mosquito repellent liquid?
A mosquito repellent liquid is an insecticide, so the formulation must be registered with the Registration Committee under the Insecticides Act 1968. The factory also needs a manufacturing licence from the licensing officer appointed by the state. You also need pollution board consent, Udyam and GST registration, and EPR registration for plastic packaging unless you are exempt.
Is mosquito liquidator manufacturing profitable?
In our illustrative sample, a 13,000 refills per day unit reaches a 30.3% return on investment in Year 3. Break-even is at 35.7% of capacity and payback takes about 2.9 years. Real profit depends on the ex-factory price you can hold against national brands, solvent and bottle prices, dealer margins and how well you manage the off-season.
Can I get a PMEGP loan for a mosquito liquidator unit?
A small refill unit can fit PMEGP, which covers manufacturing projects up to ₹50 lakh with a margin-money subsidy of 15–35% depending on location and category. A unit the size of our sample is beyond that limit and would usually take an MSME term loan. Scheme rules change, so confirm current terms with your bank or District Industries Centre.
Mosquito liquidator ka business kaise shuru kare?
Start by choosing a registered formulation and capacity, then apply for registration under the Insecticides Act and the state manufacturing licence before you buy machines. Arrange a shed with safe solvent storage, a filling and wick plugging line and bottle suppliers. Plan distribution in your region, and get a project report on mosquito repellent liquidator manufacturing for the bank loan.
Is the mosquito repellent liquidator project report PDF free, and can I use it for a loan?
The sample is free to view and download. It is an illustrative report that shows the format and depth of an NPCS report. Its figures are representative and not based on a real project, so it should not be submitted to a bank. For a loan, NPCS prepares a report for your own capacity, location and loan scheme.
