Apart from that, there is widespread development of critical social and physical infrastructure, and there is an increasing pool of well-educated, English-speaking, enterprising workers in most countries across the continent.

It’s true there are lots of amazing business opportunities in Africa. However, it can get very confusing if you don’t know where to look. In this article, I’ll show you some of the hottest business opportunities in Africa that will create more successful entrepreneurs.

Food Processing & Agriculture:  As the world’s population increases rapidly (recently exceeding the 7 billion mark), global agricultural production must rise to feed these growing numbers. Much of that increased agricultural production will come from Africa. The opportunities in Africa’s food and agribusiness space remain huge and will not go out of fashion anytime soon. The demand of quality food is increasing for a growing population, especially in urban areas. This situation presents many business opportunities in food industry sector. Rice Mill, Rice Bran Oil with Captive Power Plant (Integrated Unit)- Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study

Paddy is the most important and extensively grown food crop in the World. Rice grain (Oryza sativa) along with hulls/husk is known as paddy. Paddy seed contains a rough, hard and woody outer covering, called husk which make paddy as such inedible. It is the staple food of more than 60 percent of the world population. The rice which is obtained after milling is called raw rice. Nearly 60% of the total rice produced in India is subjected to parboiling. Parboiling is a hydrothermal treatment of paddy followed by drying before milling for the production of milled parboiled rice. In general, three major steps in parboiling i.e., soaking, steaming and drying have a great influence on the final characteristics and quality of parboiled rice. India is a second largest producer of rice in the world. On an average India produces 130 million tonnes of paddy and 79 million tonnes of milled rice. According to the solvent Extractor's Association of India, the total production of oil from indigenous sources amounted to 76.2 lakhs tonnes in oil year 2003-2004 and in the current oil year this is expected to rise to around 80.6 lakhs tonnes. The government estimated that the total shortfall in supply was of the order of about 6 lakhs to 7 lakhs tonnes. However, it imported about 11 lakhs tonnes last year, which is expected to go up to about 15 lakhs tonnes in the current year. Few Indian Major Players are as under:- A V I Export (India) Ltd. PET Bottle Recycling - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue

Polyethylene terephthalate or PET (also known as PETE) is one of the most common types of plastic. Most single-serve plastic bottles, including those for water, soft drinks and juices, are made with PET. Designated by the recycling code “1”. Being extremely light, PET bottles help to reduce the emission of contaminants during their transport. Since they require less fuel during transport, they also help saving energy. PET is globally recognized as a safe, recyclable packaging material. PET is the main constituent in a variety of consumer and industrial products including plastic fibers, videotape, audiotape, film, engineered resin, food containers. PET recycling is the process of reprocessing plastic that already has been used before and giving it some new reusable form. For instance, this could mean melting down soft drink bottles and then casting them as plastic chairs and tables. Typically a plastic is not recycled into the same type of plastic, and products made from recycled plastics are often not recyclable. Thus, it is a good project for entrepreneurs to invest. Banana Powder - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Economics

Banana is the common name for a type of fruit and also the herbaceous plants of the genus Musa. Banana is amongst the most versatile and most widely eaten fruits in the world today. Bananas come in a variety of sizes and colors when ripe, including yellow, purple, and red. Bananas can be eaten raw though some varieties are generally cooked first. Banana has various uses that can be turned into many processed products. In addition to banana exporting, processing banana into different products could mean additional income for banana farmers. Banana powder has a great potential for commercialization. It has a high sugar and low starch content and can be used as a substitute for fresh banana in making traditional cakes or their premixes as well as in the processing of banana snacks, crackers or crisps. The quality of banana powder is determined by the color, flavor, texture and moisture content. These are affected by the varieties of bananas and processing operations specially blanching process. India ranks first in world production of fruits and ranks first in mango and banana with more than 40% and 20% production respectively. After China, India is second largest producer of vegetables and accounts for 15 % of World production of vegetables. Almost all varieties of vegetables are grown in India. The Indian food industry is estimated to be worth over US$ 200 billion and is expected to grow to US$ 310 billion. By 2015 India is one of the world’s major food producers but accounts for only 1.7 per cent (valued at US$ 7.5 billion) of world trade in this sector – this share is slated to increase to 3 per cent (US$ 20 billion) by 2015. Depolymerisation of Waste PET Scrap - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities

Poly (ethylene terephthalate), more commonly known as PET in the packaging industry, is an indispensable material with immense applications owing to its excellent physical and chemical properties. Due to its increasing consumption and non-biodegradability, PET waste disposal has created serious environmental and economic concerns. Management of PET waste has become an important social issue. A driving force for PET recycling is that PET products have a slow rate of natural decomposition. PET is a non-degradable plastic in normal conditions as there is no known organism that can consume its relatively large molecules. Complicated and expensive procedures need to be operated in order for PET to degrade biologically. With an abundance of bottles, recycler capacity, and potential end uses, the key to successful recycling of PET plastics lies with consumers throughout the world. Only they can properly identify post-consumer containers and initiate the collection process. The current demand for PTA in India is approximately 500 thousand tons. Its main applications are textiles, polyethylene terephthalate bottles and film. Future growth is predicted to be extremely high, with demand increasing by approximately 20% per year. The textile and garment industry consumes a large proportion of global PTA output. China is the most important import market for PTA due to its huge polyester capacity, over half of the world’s total. Peanut Butter - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Economics

Peanut butter is not “butter” but butter like product made from ground nut or peanut. It consists essentially of cleaned, graded, blanched, roasted and crushed groundnuts containing about 45 percent of oil and over 25 percent of proteins, being thus a highly nutritive food. Since India occupies the first position both in regard to the area and the production of groundnut, in the world, it is bound to explore all the qualitative values of groundnut, and use it to the maximum. Plant and machinery required for the manufacture of peanut butter are not much sophisticated and can be procured indigenously. The unit can be installed within S.S.I. Limit; hence all the facilities provided by Government of India for S.S.I. Units can be availed, fully. Marketing is no problem for such a cheaper and nutritive food. “Peanut butter is the food prepared by grinding one of the shelled and roasted peanut, to which may be added seasoning and stabilizing ingredients, but such seasoning an stabilizing ingredients do not in the aggregate exceed 10% of the weight of the finished product. To the ground peanuts, cut or chopped, shelled, and roasted peanuts may be added. During processing the oil content of the peanut ingredient may be adjusted by the addition or subtraction of peanut oil. China and India together are the world's leading groundnut producers accounting for nearly 60 percent of the production and 52 percent of the crop area. India cultivates about 7.74 million hectares and produces 7.61 million tonnes of groundnut with the productivity level of 991.8 kg per ha. South Africa is the major producer in Africa, while in Latin America almost one half of the total groundnut produced in that region may be credited to Argentina. Among the developing countries Egypt has the highest productivity and capacity to produce groundnuts. Though India is world’s largest producer of peanuts, however, manufacturing of peanut butter is not a significant activity. So any new entrants can venture in to this industry. Few Indian Major Players are as under:- Sonya Foods Pvt. Ltd. United Foods Bharat Kernels Pvt. Ltd.
