| Profile: Dry Cleaning unit is servicing industry. Based on their charge and how they carry water, there are three classifications of detergents; Anionic detergents, Non-anionic detergents and Cationic detergents. There are various types of dry cleaning solvents such as camphor oil, turpentine spirits, benzene, kerosene, white gasoline, petroleum solvents (primarily petroleum naphtha blends), chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, perchloroethylene, trichloroethylene, decamethylcylcopentasiloxane, n propyl bromide, etc. Bleaches are used in stain removal when other spotting techniques have failed to remove a stain. Bleaches are also used in conventional laundry operations which are conducted at most dry cleaning plants. Bleaches can be classified as either oxidizing or reducing. Raw Materials and its availability: The typical unit being a service industry, the amount required for working materials is negligible. The main requirement are washing powder and cake soap, petrol, stain removing chemicals, sewing threads and packaging materials. Total annual requirement is calculated at Rs. 0.50 lakh. All material & consumable items can be procured from local agencies in the open market. Application: 1. It is used for rapid systematic cleaning of daily use clothes as well as valuable clothes for rare use or occasional uses. 2. It is used for rapid washing and cleaning of the urgent required clothes. 3. Industrially it is used for rapid cleaning of clothes drying and pressing purpose. Market Potential: Dry cleaning and laundry unit may come under the tiny scale industry to small scale industry unit. Now a day there is a very good export scope of garments. In garment industry there is requirement of laundry unit or dry cleaning unit. Laundry and dry cleaning unit growth is 5%, which is now, meet up by local operators. But due to the rapid population growth and rapid modernization more laundry and dry cleaning units are required to keep space with the social demand.
