How We Helped M/s. Goodluck India Ltd Step Into High-Value Copper Tube Manufacturing

A North India industrial company needed the right product to diversify into. Inner grooved copper tubes made the case on its own merits.

Client: M/s. Goodluck India Ltd

Goodluck India Ltd came to NPCS with a straightforward objective — find a manufacturing opportunity worth committing to. Based in Sikandrabad, Uttar Pradesh, the company had the industrial foundation and investment appetite to enter a new product segment. What they needed was the right one.

After screening multiple sectors against the client's investment profile, NPCS recommended an Inner Grooved Copper Tubes Manufacturing Unit. The product isn't widely known outside engineering circles, but the demand story is hard to argue with. These are precision-engineered copper tubes with helical internal grooves that significantly improve heat transfer efficiency — which makes them the preferred choice in air conditioning systems, refrigeration equipment, industrial heat exchangers, and cooling infrastructure. Every air conditioner manufactured in India uses them. Every cold chain facility, every power plant heat exchanger, every commercial refrigeration unit does too.

That demand is growing, not stabilising. Rapid urbanisation is pushing air conditioning penetration higher across residential and commercial buildings. Cold chain infrastructure is expanding alongside food processing and pharmaceutical storage requirements. And government energy efficiency mandates — BEE Star ratings, ECBC building norms — are pushing the industry toward higher-performance components, which inner grooved tubes deliver over standard smooth-bore alternatives.

There's also a meaningful import substitution angle. India currently imports a notable share of specialised copper tubes, primarily from China. A domestic manufacturer with the right quality certifications and competitive processing costs can capture that demand while also building toward export markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

The NPCS feasibility study worked through the full picture — raw material sourcing for high-purity copper rods and billets, the extrusion and drawing process, precision internal grooving, annealing, quality testing against ASTM and ISO standards, and final packaging for domestic and export dispatch. Plant layout, machinery specifications, capacity planning, and compliance requirements were all covered in detail.

The financial modeling confirmed a favorable IRR exceeding typical industrial benchmarks, with break-even achievable at moderate capacity utilisation — reflecting both the strength of the demand base and the operational resilience of the business model. A phased execution roadmap took the client from approvals and procurement through trial production and commercial launch.

Goodluck India Ltd reviewed the complete DPR and confirmed their decision to proceed with implementation.
