CARBON FIBRE - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Economics

PRODUCT PROFILE Carbon fiber is the common name used to refer to plastic reinforced by a graphite textile. Less frequently, the term is used to describe the textile itself, but it is pretty much useless unless embedded in plastic. Carbon fiber is known alternatively as carbon fiber reinforced plastic or carbon fiber composite. Carbon fibers are a new breed of high strength materials. Carbon fiber has been described as a fiber containing at least 90% carbon obtained by the controlled pyrolysis of appropriate fibers. Carbon fiber composites are ideally suited to applications where strength, stiffness, lower weight, and outstanding fatigue characteristics are critical requirements. They also can be used in the occasion where high temperature, chemical inertness and high damping are important. The carbon fibre composites are formed combining carbon fibres with a resin matrix (examples include epoxy. polyester, themoplastic, vinyl ester, phenolic types etc). The carbon fibre is the primary load carrier and the resin matrix supports the fibres and transfers the load between fibres. PROPERTIES OF CARBON FIBERS: • High flexibility, • High tensile strength, • Low weight, high resistance, • High temperature tolerance and • Low thermal expansion, These properties make them very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, and motorsports, along with other competition sports. CARBON FIBRES ARE CLASSIFIED ON THE BASIS OF: • Carbon fiber properties • Precursor fiber materials • Final heat treatment temperature APPLICATIONS OF CARBON FIBERS:- Global demand for high strength, light weight and durable fiber is growing; typical applications in: • Portable power • Rechargeable batteries and fuel cell electrodes • Fiber reinforced plastics, FRP • Energy production; windmill blades • Building and construction materials: concrete and asphalt reinforcements, soil erosion barriers • Electronics, composite materials for automotives & general transportation, • Specialty and niche markets. Carbon fiber is most notably used to reinforce composite materials, particularly the class of materials known as carbon fiber or graphite reinforced polymers. The fiber also finds use in filtration of high temperature gases, as an electrode with high surface area and impeccable corrosion resistance, and as an anti-static component. Molding a thin layer of carbon fibers significantly improves fire resistance of polymers or thermoset composites because a dense, compact layer of carbon fibers efficiently reflects heat. The two main applications of carbon fibers are in specialized technology, which includes aerospace and nuclear engineering, and in general engineering and transportation, which includes engineering components such as bearings, gears, cams, fan blades and automobile bodies. GLOBAL SCENARIO: The global demand on carbon fiber composites was valued at roughly US$10.8 billion in 2009, which declined 8 to 10% from the previous year. It is expected to reach US$13.2 billion by 2012 and to increase to US$18.6 billion by 2015 with an annual growth rate of 7% or more. Strongest demands come from aircraft & aerospace, wind energy as well as automotive industry. Around90 percent of all commercial carbon fibers are produced by the thermal conversion of PAN precursor fibers. Commercially available PAN fibers are used as precursors to produce carbon fibers in large tow counts, having up to 24k filaments. Indian Import is around 3 metric tons. Consumption by other manufacturing industries is growing even faster, by about 15% per year.

Carbon Fibers Composites - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue

Carbon fiber is composed of carbon atoms bonded together to form a long chain. The fibers are extremely stiff, strong, and light, and are used in many processes to create excellent building materials. Carbon fiber material comes in a variety of raw building-blocks, including yarns, uni-directional, weaves, braids, and several others, which are in turn used to create composite parts. Within each of these categories are many sub-categories of further refinement. For example, different types of carbon fiber weaves result in different properties for the composite part, both in fabrication, as well as final product. Strength, Stiffness, and Comparisons with Other Materials Carbon fiber is extremely strong. It is typical in engineering to measure the benefit of a material in terms of strength to weight ratio and stiffness to weight ratio, particularly in structural design, where added weight may translate into increased lifecycle costs or unsatisfactory performance. Carbon fiber composites are also significantly more expensive than traditional materials. Working with carbon fiber requires a high skill level and many intricate processes to produce high quality building materials (for example, solid carbon sheets, sandwich laminates, tubes, etc). Very high skill level and specialized tooling and machinery are required to create custom-fabricated, highly optimized parts and assemblies. Many different types of materials are used to create composites like Honeycomb, Foams, and Wood etc. Uses and Applications Carbon fiber composites provide an alternative to conventional materials, for example steel, aluminum, and fiberglass, for the construction of lightweight trusses and frame structures. The first construction method for these types of carbon fiber structures is using tubes and gussets. Uni-direction carbon fiber can be added to individual members to increase bending/axial stiffness and strength. Likewise, gusset thickness and geometry can be adjusted to ensure proper shear stress transfer through the joints. An alternative lightweight, and often cost-effective, carbon fiber construction method is using our patent-pending connectors and pultruded carbon fiber tubes In addition, the skills necessary for construction of this type of structure are relatively easy to master. Market survey Indian Carbon Fiber Composites Market is forecast to Reach USD 53 million in nearby future. Once the domain of aerospace and space applications in India, carbon fiber composites are increasingly being used in a host of new industrial applications where material cost is secondary to performance, high strength and reduced weight considerations. Indian carbon fiber composites market poised for dramatic growth and expects to reach USD 53 million by 2018. The industrial market is expected to witness very strong growth, followed by aerospace segment. Consumer goods market expects to post slow growth between 2013 and 2018. Currently, the market for carbon fiber composites is estimated at $10 billion (USD) globally, and observers expect that it could reach as high as $40 billion by 2022. Aspiring and established carbon fiber manufacturers and a variety of marketing partners are positioning themselves to meet the vastly increasing need for raw fiber and fibrous reinforcement products. After 2020, further cost reductions – primarily driven by the hybridization of composite components (combining continuous fibers and other materials such as metal or short fibers) – will lead to a significant market expansion. The expectation is that these hybrids can be produced with processes similar to pure composites. The volume of high-strength Carbon Fibre components produced worldwide is set to grow by 17% a year until 2020. In key sectors of industry, like automotives, aeronautics and wind energy, we are already seeing the use of large quantities of continuous fiber-reinforced components. With the growing importance of lightweight construction across various industries, there will be strong growth in demand for these products going forward, assuming that production costs fall.

Carbon Fiber - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Economics

Carbon fibers have been under continuous development for the last 50 years. The properties of carbon fibers, such as high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion, make them very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, and motorsports, along with other competition sports. However, they are relatively expensive when compared to similar fibers, such as glass fibers or plastic fibers. Carbon fibers are usually combined with other materials to form a composite. When combined with a plastic resin and wound or molded it forms carbon fiber reinforced polymer (often referred to as carbon fiber) which has a very high strength-to-weight ratio, and is extremely rigid although somewhat brittle. However, carbon fibers are also composited with other materials, such as with graphite to form carbon-carbon composites, which have a very high heat tolerance. Carbon fiber is most notably used to reinforce composite materials, particularly the class of materials known as carbon fiber or graphite reinforced polymers. Non-polymer materials can also be used as the matrix for carbon fibers. Due to the formation of metal carbides and corrosion considerations, carbon has seen limited success in metal matrix composite applications. Reinforced carbon-carbon (RCC) consists of carbon fiber-reinforced graphite, and is used structurally in high-temperature applications. The fiber also finds use in filtration of high-temperature gases, as an electrode with high surface area and impeccable corrosion resistance, and as an anti-static component. European companies consume 46% of the quantity of carbon fiber used worldwide in the aerospace and defence sector while their counterparts in the USA use a further 33%. Furthermore, 86% of the carbon fiber used in the area of sport/leisure is processed in China, a result of pricing pressure and the fact that this sector is now primarily dominated by mass production methods. The future of Carbon Fiber is very bright, with vast potential in many different industries. As a whole it is a good project for entrepreneurs to invest.

Cold Storage

India is the largest producer of fruits and second largest producer of vegetables in the world. In spite of that per capita availability of fruits and vegetables is quite low because of post-harvest losses which account for about 25% to 30% of production. This is mainly because of perishable nature of the produce which requires a cold chain arrangement to maintain the quality and extend the shelf-life if consumption is not meant immediately after harvest. A cold storage is a temperature-controlled supply chain network, with storage and distribution activities carried out in a manner such that the temperature of a product is maintained in a specified range, needed to keep it fresh and edible for a much longer period than in normal ambient conditions. According to the information collected by the expert committee on cold storage and storage, requirement ofcold storage in the next five years may be in excess of 12 lakh tonnes. The working group of the planningcommission for IX plan had assessed new cold storage capacity for fruits, vegetables and multi commodity as15 lakh tonnes; 13 lakh tonnes in private sector, 1.5 lakh tonnes in cooperative sector and the rest 0.5 lakhtonnes in public sector. Cellulose Fiber

Cellulose or cellulosic fibers are fibers structured from cellulose, a starch-like carbohydrate. They are created by dissolving natural materials such as cellulose or wood pulp, which are then regenerated by extrusion and precipitation. Cellulose fibers can be used to create a wide range of fabrics, from a heavy denim or corduroy to a light muslin or organza. Examples of cellulose fibers include hemp, linen, cotton, ramie, and sisal. Cellulose fibers are fibers made with ethers or esters of cellulose, which can be obtained from the bark, wood or leaves of plants, or from other plant-based material. In addition to cellulose, the fibers may also contain hemicelluloses and lignin, with different percentages of these components altering the mechanical properties of the fibers. Growing demand for cellulose fibers in textile and apparel industry Increasing consumption of cellulose fiber in textile industry is one of the major driver supporting the growth of overall market. Rise in disposable income and changing fashion trend is expected to drive the textile and apparel industry. Also, growing automotive and building &construction industry will continue to demand for non-clothing textiles. All these factors are expected to boost the demand for cellulose fibers. Cellulose Fiber Market is forecasted to reach $42.2 billion by 2025, after growing at a CAGR of 8.1% during 2020-2025. With rise in the consumption in textile industry coupled with growing population, is expected to fuel the demand of cellulose fiber. Growing public interest towards sustainable, skin-friendly, biodegradable, and environment-friendly products will further enhance the overall market demand for cellulose fibers during the forecast period. Increasing adoption of sustainable, skin-friendly, biodegradable, and environment friendly products Changing consumer preferences towards adoption of environmental friendly products is further fueling the demand of cellulose fibers. Cellulose fiber has numerous advantages over conventional fiber which makes it material of choice. Cellulose properties such as skin-friendly, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly would further fuel the growth of the market. Thus, due to demand it is best to invest in this project.

Production of Composite Materials

Production of Composite Materials-Carbon Fiber Composites and Glass Fiber Composites. Manufacturing Business Plan & Investment Opportunity for Entrepreneurs. Composite materials have played an important role throughout human history, from housing early civilizations to enabling future innovations. Composites offer many benefits; the key among them are corrosion resistance, design flexibility, durability, light weight, and strength. Composites have permeated our everyday lives such as products that are used in constructions, medical applications, oil and gas, transportation, sports, aerospace, and many more. Some applications, such as rocket ships, probably would not get off the ground without composite materials. the advantages of Fibre composite materials as well as fundamental effects, product development, and applications of Fibre composites, including material chemistry, designing, manufacturing, properties, and utilization of the materials in various applications. Related Project: - Composite Materials-Carbon Fibre Composites & Glass Fibre Composites Characteristics of Composite Materials High specific strength and modulus, as well as high fatigue strength and fatigue damage tolerance Anisotropic Designable or tailor able materials for both microstructure and properties Production of both material and structure or component in a single Operation - manufacturing flexible, net-shape, complex geometry Corrosion resistance and durable Other unique functional properties - damping, low CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) Related Projects: - New Projects Why use Composites? Weight saving is one of the main reasons for using composite materials rather than conventional materials for components. While composites are lighter they can also be stronger than other materials, for example, reinforced carbon-Fibre can be up to five times stronger than 1020 grade steel and only one fifth of the weight, making it perfect for structural purposes. Another advantage of using a composite over a conventional type of material is the thermal and chemical resistance as well as the electrical insulation properties. Unlike conventional materials, composites can have multiple properties not often found in a single material. Fibre reinforced composites, such as Fibre reinforced plastic (FRP composites), are finding increasing use in the design and manufacture of final products for commercialization. Related Projects:- Carbon Fiber, Carbon Fiber Composites, Graphite Fibre and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Projects Uses As with all engineering materials, composites have particular strengths and weaknesses, which should be considered at the specifying stage. Composites are by no means the right material for every job. However, a major driving force behind the development of composites has been that the combination of the reinforcement and the matrix can be changed to meet the required final properties of a component. For example, if the final component needs to be fire-resistant, a fire-retardant matrix can be used in the development stage so that it has this property. Weight Reduction Durability and Maintenance Added Functionality Design Freedom Related Videos:- Carbon Fiber, Carbon Fiber Composites, Graphite Fibre and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Projects Market Outlook The global composites market size is projected to grow from USD 74.0 billion in 2020 to USD 112.8 billion by 2025, at a CAGR of 8.8%. The composites industry is growing due to the rise in demand for high performance materials, globally. The automotive segment is becoming increasingly obsessive with consumption of carbon fiber and has increased significantly over the past years. The increasing demand for electric vehicles in countries like China and United States is also a major driving factor for the demand for composite material. Asia Pacific had the largest composite material demand and is anticipated to continue dominance owing to favorable FDI policies by Indian and Chinese Governments over the next seven years. Developed regions including North America and Europe are expected to follow Asia Pacific over the next seven years on account of rising lightweight materials used for vehicle components. Nonetheless, lower per capita composite materials consumption in BRIC is expected to provide an impetus for market growth over the forecast period. Favorable government regulations are anticipated to lower entry barriers for new market participants in emerging economies resulting in higher market fragmentation over the next seven years. Increasing demand for lightweight materials in the aerospace and defense industry is expected to drive the demand. Related Project:- Composite Materials-Carbon Fibre Composites & Glass Fibre Composites Composite materials are more expensive than other plastic materials that are utilized in the manufacture of vehicles. This is expected to restrain the automotive composite materials market to some extent in the near future. The basic cost of carbon fiber is way higher than that of metal. Furthermore, the processing of carbon fibers is an expensive process, especially when it comes to mass production of automotive components. However, the development of low-cost manufacturing methods for automotive composites is receiving a lot of attention from leading vehicle manufacturers across the world. These drawbacks of composite materials are expected to hamper the automotive composite materials market.
