ADHESIVE BASED ON TAPIOCA STARCH IN POWDER FORM (FOR CORRUGATED BOARD & BOXES) - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials

Starch based adhesives play a large part in industrial production, especially the packaging industry. Starch is principally used for bonding paper products. Most corrugated box board for making cartons is bonded with starch-based adhesives, and other porous substrates can be easily joined with these versatile adhesives. Starch based adhesives are readily available, low in cost, and easy to apply from water dispersion. They are considered to be the least expensive class of paper-packaging adhesive. Starch cure by the loss of moisture. Since these adhesives cure to a thermo setting structure, they have excellent heat resistance. Another significant advantage is their very slow curing rate, allowing ample assembly time. Although starch has been used as adhesives for many decades, there are several important reasons why this natural adhesives will not be entirely replaced by synthetic products. The following advantages ensure that they will continue to fill particular niches in the marketplace. * Good availability * Relatively low cost * Stable quality * Good adhesion to cellulose and many porous substrates * Insoluble in oils and fats * Non-toxic and biodegradable * Heat resistant Its relatively high viscosity affords an appreciable binding capacity, which is why starch finds much favour in the adhesive industry. Tapioca starch becomes sticky when it is mixed with water or certain chemicals. It stays sticky over a very long period of times. However, high quality tapioca starch fits for making industrial glues. The booming Indian economy and a flourishing organized retail have raised the expectations that consumption of corrugated packaging will begin to expand again as the number and volume of goods packaged in corrugated increases. MNCs are demanding corrugated boxes of international standards and the pattern of buying the packaging is changing. This present scenario is already being challenged by the sweeping changes that are beginning to take shape. More and more in-line automatic plants are being set up, as corrugated box makers gear up to meet the new demands for high precision boxes with attractive graphics and large integrated production capacities.

Resin is a natural or synthetic compound which begins in a highly viscous state and hardens with treatment typically; resin is soluble in alcohol, but not in composition and potential uses. There are numerous applications for resin, ranging from art to polymer production, and many consumers interact with product, which contain resin on daily basis. Humans have been using natural resins for thousand of years. Pine pitch has been used to seal boats, mummies, food containers and an assortment of other things. It has also been used as component in varnish, lacquer, inks, perfumes jewellery and many other objects. With human technological advances came the realization that resins could be formulated into polymers and discovery of synthetic resins followed shortly after. For most part, polymers made with resins are actually made with synthetic resin which is cheaper and easier to refine. Synthetic resin is much more stable, predictable and uniform than natural resin as well, since it is made under controlled condition without the possibility of the introduction of impurities. These resins are made by combining chemicals in a laboratory to stimulate the reaction which results in formulation of a resinous compound. The resin can be used in production of plastic, paints and many of the some substances that natural resin is used in. The demand of alkyd resin is increasing rapidly, so there is wide scope for new entrepreneurs. The Acrylics are a group of thermoplastic resins formed by polymerization of esters or amides of acrylic acid. Now-a-days they are being used as adhesives. DISINFECTANTS I.P. GRADE FOR HOSPITAL USE (LYSOL TYPE) - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Plant Layout

Disinfectants are substances that are applied to non-living objects to destroy microorganisms that are living on the objects. Lysol (Cresol with Soap) solution is a phenolic compound used as a disinfectant. It is unsuitable for use on human beings. It acts by disruption of cell membranes and denaturation of proteins and enzymes of the cell. It is effective against vegetative gram positive and gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria and viruses. Lysol is a general disinfectant for domestic or hospital use like disinfection of floors, bathrooms, washbasins, organic waste such as sputum, faces, urine etc. The antistatic floor cleaning detergent is highly popular replacing the soap because of their favourable characteristics. Almost all the detergent, despite their difference in origin and methods of manufacture, has two points in common. One part the long hydrocarbon chain that is oil soluble (linophilic) and the other portion a water soluble (hydrophilic) group. The latter property may render the whole molecule so soluble in water as to impart some or all of the characteristics. The oil soluble portion may be derived from a natural fat or from petroleum, or aromatic hydrocarbon, such as benzene etc. with an alkyl side chain. The water soluble portion may be derived from material acids, alkylene oxides, polyhydric alcohols and polyamides. Cresol with soap solution is prepared by the saponification of a mixture of cresol with vegetable oil such as cottonseed, linseed, soybean etc.. It is amber color to reddish brown liquid having an odor of cresol. Miscible with 10% v/v with water and in all proportion with ethanol. It is well stored in well closed light resistant containers. It is extensively used as disinfectant in Hospitals, Municipal organizations, Clinics etc. The surface cleanser and disinfectants market has grown in value terms to an estimated Rs 6 billion a year, if multi-purpose detergents are excluded. In volume terms, the market is of the order of around 9600 tpa of which more than 60% is represented by phenyls. The branded MNC-oriented market is placed at over Rs 2750 million and is growing at about 20%. Reckitt Benckiser (India), (R&B) is market leader in multipurpose cleansers with strong brands like Lysol and Colin (59% market share) and Harpic in the specialist toilet cleanser market (85% market share). DISINFECTANTS I.P. GRADE FOR HOSPITAL USE (LYSOL TYPE) - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Plant Layout

A wide range of chemical and natural compounds are used as antimicrobials. The antistatic floor cleaning detergent is highly popular replacing the soap because of their favourable characteristics. Almost all the detergent, despite their difference in origin and methods of manufacture, has two points in common. One part the long hydrocarbon chain that is oil soluble (linophilic) and the other portion, a water soluble (hydrophilic) group. The oil soluble portion may be derived from a natural fat or from petroleum, or aromatic hydrocarbon, such as benzene etc. with an alkyl side chain. The water soluble portion may be derived from material acids, alkylene oxides, polyhydric alcohols and polyamides. The detergents are further divided into several classes e.g. anionic, cationic, non-ionic, amphoteric etc. Each type acts differently in aqueous solutions. Lysol (Cresol with Soap) solution is a phenolic compound used as a disinfectant. It is unsuitable for use on human beings. Cresols are used to dissolve other chemicals, as disinfectants and deodorizers, and to make specific chemicals that kill insect pests. Cresol solutions are used as household cleaners and disinfectants, perhaps most famously under the trade name Lysol. In the past, cresol solutions have been used as antiseptics in surgery, but they have been largely displaced in this role by less toxic compounds. Lysol acts by disruption of cell membranes and denaturation of proteins and enzymes of the cell. It is effective against vegetative gram positive and gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria and viruses. By far the most cost-effective home disinfectant is the commonly used chlorine bleach (a 5% solution of Sodium hypochlorite) which is effective against most common pathogens. As the consumers all over the world have responded favourably and changed over to synthetic detergents from soap as a cleaning agent, it is pertinent to study the development of this industry in the world to asses our potentials. Now a number of units are manufacturing a range of floor cleaners or bathroom cleaners in various trade names. Their market potential is gaining momentum day by day with rise in our country's population and public hygienic health awareness. The surface cleaner and disinfectants market has grown in value terms to an estimated Rs 6 billion a year, if multi-purpose detergents are excluded. In volume terms, the market is of the order of around 9600 TPA of which more than 60% is represented by phenyls. The branded MNC-oriented market is placed at over Rs 2750 million and is growing at about 20%. A retail audit revealed that the branded toilet cleaner market in India was set to touch Rs 1.3 billion in 2008-09 registering a growth of 16%, while the floor cleansing market was expected to end the year at Rs 0.75 billion registering a growth of 30%. Reckitt Benckiser (India), (R&B) is market leader in multipurpose cleansers with strong brands like Lysol and Colin (59% market share) and Harpic in the specialist toilet cleanser market (85% market share). Demand for disinfectant and antimicrobial chemicals in the India will grow to a large extent. Gains will result from increased consumer concerns about food borne pathogens such as E. coli and Salmonella, fueled in large part by well publicized lapses in proper sanitation techniques in food and beverage processing facilities. Growth for antimicrobial additives will be driven by changes in product formulations such as water-based industrial coatings, which are more susceptible to microbes. There is a good scope for new entrepreneurs to venture into this field. Few Indian Major Players are as under: Bombay Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd.
