      How is LED light used in Indoor Vertical Farming?<\/strong><\/p>\n

      LED lighting<\/strong> allows farmers to grow crops<\/strong> in blue and red<\/strong> lights<\/strong>. The space between the lights<\/strong> and the crops<\/strong> is limited which helps in the process of growth of plants<\/strong>. The LED lights<\/strong> do not burn leaves like normal bulbs.<\/p>\n

      1. LED lights are suited for vertical farming<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 LEDs<\/strong> are highly efficient. They are 40% to 70% more efficient than normal lights<\/strong>. A LED light<\/strong> has greater lifespan of about 50,000 hours of usage than an ordinary bulb.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        In vertical farming<\/strong>, crops<\/strong> are grown<\/strong> in high trays with many layers. For their efficient growth<\/strong>, light<\/strong> needs to be dispersed uniformly. Traditional HPS and MH lights<\/strong> emit much heat than needed which can be harmful for the crops<\/strong>. On the other hand, LED lights<\/strong> distribute optimum heat and uniformly.<\/p>\n

        1. Pink lights in vertical farming<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 The white light<\/strong> of sunlight is a mixture of a spectrum of colours; a rainbow. We need to know that in order for plants<\/strong> to grow<\/strong>, they don\u2019t need all the wavelengths of a rainbow.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Research has shown that plants grow<\/strong> best in red and blue lights<\/strong>. HPS and MH lights<\/strong> provide for more light<\/strong> spectra than needed thus leading to wastage of energy. On the other hand, LED lights<\/strong> can produce our targeted wavelengths.<\/p>\n
