The industrial zone is to be a brand new one for Meerut after a gap of 25 years. The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has proposed establishing an industrial park on 44.129 hectares of land in Itayara village, Meerut. The authority will submit the proposal to the government for approval, reports Amar Ujala on 18 August 2026. State government has since requested the district government to report on the proposal prior to the commencement of Detailed Project Report (DPR) and survey process.<\/p>\n
It’s not a standard administrative change. The opportunity will present a once-in-a-lifetime chance for entrepreneurs, manufacturers, MSMEs, and investors in western Uttar Pradesh. Around \u20b996.20 crore worth of land at circle-rate valuation has been released specifically for industrial use, and UPSIDA is actively seeking another 400 bighas of adjoining land to expand the zone further.<\/p>\n
The proposed location also suits the site well because it lies close to a major power substation, offers good transport links for logistics, and has a natural drainage system that prevents waterlogging.
