However, relying on the outsiders for the fancy, green stuff.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Big dream:<\/strong> 300 million tonnes of capacity by 2030-31. Once I visited a small supplier in Gujarat. It was a hive of activity. A large steel company expands the scope of innovations for thousands of people.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Global Buyers Go Green:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Vehicles, real estate, aircraft, renewable energy, and construction contracts &#8211; all industries and companies are searching for partners and suppliers who take environmental issues seriously. As a result,\u00a0 &#8220;Green steel&#8221; has become non-negotiable, according to a friend of mine who works in this industry.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>A Clear Set of Rules with the Green Steel Taxonomy:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For the first time, there is a clear definition of \u201cgreen.\u201d <strong>As a result<\/strong>,\u00a0 No more wondering. Therefore, These are the ideas that I have shortlisted, which appear feasible and have the potential to positively impact the environment and the bottom line.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1).<\/strong><strong style=\"letter-spacing: -0.6px;\">Hydrogen-Powered Direct Reduced Iron Technology:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hydrogen is replacing coal in the manufacture of sponge iron, which is revolutionary in nature. Moreover,\u00a0 Sponge iron production in India stood at <strong>51.35 million tons<\/strong> in the year 2023-24, the highest in the globe. Small changes add up. Ideas: green hydrogen modular electrolyze tech, storage solutions, catalysts, reactor automation, retrofits and consulting services. Maybe this will be the long-term hobby area as a result of the forthcoming availability of low-priced green hydrogen owing to the National Green Hydrogen Mission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2).Recycling Steel Scraps &amp; Urban Mining:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recycling has a reduced carbon emissions intensity that\u2019s <strong>60-80% less than producing stee<\/strong>l from virgin materials. As a result,\u00a0 Demand is increasing due to scrappage policies; there\u2019s <strong>a 8-10%<\/strong> annual requirement growth in steel scraps. Proposals: Automated recyclers, AI-based sorting machines, sensor-based shredders, recovering retired home &amp; transportation appliances &amp; waste. Easier start-up costs are appropriate for MSME groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3).Renewable-Powered Mini Steel Mills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Solar\/Wind-Powered EAFs = Green Technology. Renewable solutions are booming \u2013 India adds 15-20 GW every year.<\/p>\n<p>for example,\u00a0 Induction Furnace, Green Rolling Mill, set up smaller plants within regions producing TMT Bars and Rebars. Awesome application \u2013 Sustainable Housing and Road Building.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(4).Carbon Capture, Use, and Storage (CCUS) for Steel:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The emissions are part and parcel of the process, and CCUS technology should rectify this situation as per the Green Steel guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>For example, low-cost capture installation, CO2 &amp; methanol, bio-mineralization, MSME systems, or handling systems. Given the 200+ MSME steel plants, as a result, this is already scalable and required by the industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5).Improving Electric Arc Furnaces (EAFs) and Components:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The future is in EAFs. Let\u2019s manufacture the components ourselves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The components could be in these sectors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graphite electrodes<\/li>\n<li>Furnace linings<\/li>\n<li>Ladle machines<\/li>\n<li>Oxygen machines<\/li>\n<li>Digital optimizers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(6).<strong>Smart Energy Efficiency and Digital Magic:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Steel accounts for <strong>12% of the total industrial use of energy in India<\/strong>; Moreover,\u00a0 Steel is an area that needs optimization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ideas:<\/strong> optimizing the use of artificial intelligence in the furnace, heat recovery, predictive maintenance, IoT monitoring. There is an enormous base in the MSME sector for rolling mills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(7).Eco-Friendly Fluxes, Binders, and Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cleaner ingredients result in cleaner emissions in the long run. It&#8217;s a long-term approach, such as with organic produce. &#8220;For example bio-based fluxes, binders with low emissions, and eco-chemicals. The iron ore production volume of <strong>275 million tonnes per yea<\/strong>r is substantial itself<\/p>\n<p><strong>(8).Circular Economy Steel Products:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We used <strong>111 million tonnes in nine months of this year.<\/strong> That is just incredible. Moreover,\u00a0 Recycled products are always in demand in the construction, vehicles, renewable sectors, and infrastructural development sectors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Ideas:<\/strong> green certified, recycled steel. High pricing can be advantageous to the planet and to you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(9).Steel Bits for Renewables:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>500 GW of renewables in 2030<\/strong> will require steel. Ultimately,\u00a0 Domestic production of wind turbines using steel gives me goose bumps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Potential applications:<\/strong> solar mounting, tracking, towers, or hardware. Value-added demands: high strength.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(10).Green Logistics\/Supply Chains:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s high time transport decarbonized. Concepts: electric vehicle transport, carbon tracking systems, sustainable packaging solutions are needed at the same time smart storage.
