Indian Agrochemicals Market to Reach $6.8 Bn by FY17

Freeing from infection or infection-producing organisms.

An agent that does this. Heat and certain other physical agents such as live steam can be disinfectants, but in common usage the term is reserved for chemical substances such as mercury bichloride or phenol. Disinfectants are usually applied to inanimate objects since they are too strong to be used on living tissues. Chemical disinfectants are not always effective against spore-forming bacteria.

Melamine is chemically known as cyanurtriamide or 2, 4, 6 riaminosyntriazine. It forms compounds by combination of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen. It is toxic compound by ingestion, skin and eye irritant. There has immense industrial importance for the manufacturing of different variety of organic chemical compound like melamine. It is used in the tannin industry and for the manufacturing of melamine resin. It is solid crystalline product in water soluble. It is manufactured by using basic raw material urea, ammonia, and Cyanamid, dicyanamide or cyanuric chloride.

Mosquito Coils and Mats

Repellents have been developed to effectively repel insects. Repellents are substances that protect animals, human beings, plants or products from insect attack by making living conditions unattractive or offensive for the insects. E.g. flies, mosquitoes etc. These substances, may not be poisonous or only mildly topic. The production of the mosquito coil dates back from the period around 1890. In the early stages they look the shapes of an incense stick burned at household Buddhist altars, but later on they were gradually improved to the present spiral form so that they could keep burning for as long as possible the spiral has a burning time of more than seven hours, having its origin in Japan.

Black Phenyl

Phenyl is a disinfectant or agent that frees from infection, is ordinarily a chemical agent, which kills disease germs or other harmful microorganisms. It has been used in an empirical way for at least several thousand years. The control of microorganisms is obviously of great personal and public importance. Phenyl is available in two forms (1) liquid and (2) solid. It is converted to milky solution. A good phenyl should have the power for killing insects and to get deodorized bad smell.

Liquid Organic Fertiliser (Biofertiliser)

Liquid organic fertiliser or Bio fertiliser new days has increased market. There is new decease in the inorganic fertiliser market. Liquid organic fertiliser made by the use of extracted organic materials and other natural products mainly. There is virtually market demand increase day by day due to increase demand of organic foods. New in India this liquid base organic fertilizer or bio fertilizer new imported from European countries. Demand of import is gradually increases, it can be stopped only by producing quality economic product in our country.

Pesticides are substances meant for attracting, seducing, destroying or mitigating any pest. They are a class of biocide. The most common use of pesticides is as plant protection products (also known as crop protection products), which in general protect plants from damaging influences such as weeds, diseases or insects. A pesticide is a chemical or biological agent (such as a virus, bacterium, antimicrobial, or disinfectant) that through its effect deters, incapacitates, kills, or otherwise discourages pests.

Potassium Sulphate (Fertilizer Grade)

Potassium sulphate is an important chemical fertilizer is preferably used for tobacco and citrus crops which is one of the most vital input for agriculture. With the increasing trend to multiply cropping in a year the needs for fertilizer is increasing. India provides a very good future prospect for the fertilizer industry.

Naphthalene Balls

Naphthalene C10H8, sometimes called 'TARCAMPHOR' is a colourless crystalline-flaked solid with the familiar odour of moth balls. Naphthalene C10H8 is an aromatic hydrocarbon with two condensed ring aromatic compounds. The use of Naphthalene as an insect repellent has dwindled in recent years as other materials, e.g. p-dichlorobenzene, have displaced it. Naphthalene is used as an intermediate for a variety of products, including 1-Naphthol and l1-Naphthylmethl 1-carbamite insecticides and 2-Naphthol tanning.

Surfactants (Hand Wash, Floor Cleaner, Toilet Cleaner, Phenyl Black and White, Glass Cleaner, Dish Wash Liquid, Air Freshener)

Profile Surfactants are compounds that lower the surface tension of a liquid, the interfacial tension between two liquids, or that between a liquid and a solid. Surfactants may act as Air freshener, detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agents, and dispersants. Surfactants are usually organic compounds that are amphiphilic, meaning they contain both hydrophobic groups (their tails) and hydrophilic groups (their heads).

Market Outlook

Indian crop protection market was estimated at $ 3.8 billion in FY12 with exports constituting about 50% of the market.  The crop protection market has experienced strong growth in the past and is expected to grow further at approximate 12% p.a. to reach $ 6.8 billion by FY17. The growth would be largely driven by export demand which is expected to grow at 15-16% p.a, while domestic demand is expected to grow at 8-9% p.a. Biopesticides, which currently represent only 4.2% of the overall pesticide market in India, are expected to exhibit an annual growth rate of about 10% in the coming years.

Indian crop protection industry is largely dominated by insecticides which form about 65% of share of the industry. Other segments like herbicides, fungicides and other (rodenticides/ nematocides) form 16%, 15% and 4%, respectively.

The Pesticide Industry in India is growing rapidly and is marked by presence of a large number of unorganized players.

The pesticides market has been significantly projected to grow in the next five years, reaching revenue worth INR 484.0 billion by FY’2020. This growth performance has been primarily anticipated on account of increased awareness amongst Indian farmers, rising product innovation and declining prices of pesticides.

The global market for agricultural disinfectants has been expanding at a steady pace across most regions, driven primarily by the rising demand for meat products in India and China. The rapid growth of the agricultural disinfectant market is also attributed to the increase in research and development activities in order to improve the quality as well as efficacy of disinfectants.

The global market for agricultural disinfectants was valued at USD 1.64 Billion in 2015 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 4.3% from 2016, to reach USD 2.11 Billion by 2021.

Mosquito Repellent Market is expected to garner $4.8 billion by 2022, registering a CAGR of 7.7 % during the forecast period 2016 - 2022.

The mosquito repellent market is one of the rapidly growing vibrant markets in FMCG sector India. Due to increase awareness regarding vector borne disease, the demand for mosquito repellent products like coils, strips, liquid vaporizers, etc. are rising than before, thereby providing high momentum to the Indian Mosquito repellent market. Mosquito Repellent has become a gripping market for new product developments and innovation where producers are trying to convince consumers through aggressive campaign and advertizing that they should adopt mosquito repellent products to improve home hygiene and to be protected from mosquito borne disease. The penetration of mosquito repellent products is low, especially in rural India, but this offers the enormous opportunities to Indian mosquito repellent industry.

India Mosquito Repellent Market has been growing with a CAGR of 4.79% from last five years and is projected to reach new heights by the year 2021 due to rising incidence of vector borne disease in India, growing awareness regarding prevention of mosquitoes, brand awareness, increasing disposable income, growing demand in middle class people and affordable price of mosquito repellent products.

Indian agricultural fertilizers market is anticipated to be growing at the CAGR of around 7% during 2012-17. Indian fertilizers market structure constitute of public as well as private companies, manufacturing wide range of phosphatic and nitrogenous based fertilizers.

Global fungicides market generated revenue of $11,335 million in 2015 and is expected to reach $16,780 million by 2022, registering a CAGR of 5.8%.
