Construction & Building Materials

The construction industry is the second largest industry in India after agriculture. It accounts for about 11% of India’s GDP. It makes significant contribution to the national economy and provides employment to large number of people.Construction constitutes 40% to 50% of India's capital expenditure on projects in various sectors such as highways, roads, railways, energy, airports, irrigation etc. There are mainly three segments in the construction industry like real estate construction which includes residential and commercial construction; infrastructure building which includes roads, railways, power etc; and industrial construction that consists of oil and gas refineries, pipelines, textiles etc.Building material is any material which is used for a construction purpose. Many naturally occurring substances, such as clay, sand, wood and rocks, even twigs and leaves have been used to construct buildings. Apart from naturally occurring materials, many man-made products are in use.

The feasibility of infrastructure projects in ports, roads, airports and railways with private-sector majority ownership is already evident. The government also expects a substantial increase in the share of private sector investments in infrastructure from 19 per cent in the Tenth Plan to around 30 per cent in the Eleventh Plan. The biggest increase in private participation is expected in roads (from 5 per cent to 36), ports (47 per cent to 74 per cent) and railways (less than 1 per cent to 20 per cent). The Planning Commission estimates that the remaining infrastructure investments will be funded by the central and state government. According to a study by ASSOCHAM, the burgeoning Indian construction industry, currently worth $70 billion, will rise to US$120 billion by 2010.

The Commonwealth Games - 2010 in New Delhi have thrown mega opportunities for Building Material Companies, Construction Equipments & Technologies companies. The Govt. of India has permitted FDI up to 100% for development of integrated townships in India last year. India is now the second most favored destination for FDI, behind China. A large and growing middle class population of more than 300 million people, a changing life style, better cost of living etc is growth drivers for this sector.

The Indian construction industry, an integral part of the economyand a conduit for a substantial part of its development investment, is poised for growth on account of industrialization, urbanization, economic development and people's rising expectations for improved quality of living in the coming years.

S. S. Fasteners (Washers 100% E.O.U)

There are different kinds of fasteners available in the mechanical workshop. Fasteners can be made by batch manual process and also by computerized automatic process. The best quality of fasteners is manufactured by computerized automatic process. As raw material, different grade of steel-based material is available. In India there is abundant availability of raw material and there is no need to import anything as raw material. There is good market demand of the fasteners. The indigenous demand is fulfilled by indigenous production. There is no import of fasteners like washers, nuts and bolts. Mini Cement Plant

The general outlook for the cement industry is fulfilled the situation in a large body of Indian Industry, with a market rise in production failing to generate adequate profitability. In some quarters, the mini-cement plant has been following, since it opens up possibilities of exploiting small deposits of limestone in difficult and thereby contributes to the socialist pattern on the other hand. There has been a bright scope in setting up mini-cement plant. Indian Government is providing a scheme of soft loans to current units wishing to convert from wet to dry. With the combination of all these new development the industry may with luck play its full role in the national programme

Artificial Marble Tiles

With the vast potential of plastics, artificial synthetic marble is virtually replacing the use of natural marble. The qualities of artificial synthetic marble are very much the same as those of natural marble. Synthetic marble is produced out of fillers and synthetic resin is used as binder. The main advantage of synthetic marble (cultured marble) are its high strength values, low shrinkage, minimum water absorption, resistant to corrosion, ageing and weather resistant to aggressive media, easy maintenance and high abrasion resistance etc. Calcium carbonate fillers are the most widely used filler for the preparation of filled compositions and moulding. Calcium Carbonate fillers are low in cost and is one of the largest applications of artificial, synthetic or cultured marble. Cultured marble is more durable than natural quarried marble. It is more resistant to stains, wear and damaging effects of household chemicals. The major areas where artificial marble tiles can be advantageously used are roofings, flooring, tiles used as wall products in different designs and castings. The artificial marble tiles are gaining varied application in building project which are developing very fast.

Admixtures for Concrete

Admixtures are materials added to the concrete before or during its mixing, with a view to modifying one or more of the properties of concrete in the plastic or hardened state. An important feature of the majority of admixture for concrete is that it is difficult to quantitatively evaluate the behavior of the concrete under various possible circumstances. They are widely used to improve the cohesion of poorly graded concrete. There is gradual increase of utilization of concrete admixture. There is requirement of utilization when works need. There is steady marked demand which is full filled by our internal market. There is a fair chance to certain increase of market demand. So, a new comer may approach to start the production with a quality conscious and competitive market.

Bricks From Fly Ash

Bricks may be made from a no. of different kinds of materials but they must usually posses a certain amount of plasticity. Fly ash is one of them. Fly ash is an industrial waste of thermal power station using pulverized coal. Fly ash generally contains about 5% to 6% unburnt carbon. Its addition in clay, therefore result in better burnt bricks together with economy in coal consumption during firing. In India the estimated production capacity of all the bricks industries is about 1200 million which is far below the market demand and the shortfall is likely to increase manifold in future. New entrepreneur may enter in this field.

Cement Water Proofing Compound

Cement is a very important building material. It is used in almost all the constructions and is subjected to water in contact. If the concrete or cement is water-absorbing then leakage will occur and will destroy construction. The material used for checking this absorption of water is known as water proofing compound. Water-proof cement is used in water-tanks, sever pipes and so many other constructional like dams, bridges etc. Due to its applicability in numerous construction works, the demand for this product is continuously increasing now-a-days. Moreover, due to uneven supply of the product, there is a good demand for it, and a project for its manufacture on small scale can be visible.
